Darius Shahinfar has the fiscal, management and legal experience to bring our city government into the 21st century.

In his career in the public, private and non-profit sectors, Darius has been a manager of a small business and legal practice. He negotiated contracts, streamlined operations and cut red tape for businesses, community organizations, seniors and veterans. He worked for, and represented, individuals, organizations and taxpayers in management, fiscal and legal capacities.

Darius also has experience in local government, both as Deputy County Attorney for County Executive Mike Breslin and Regional Representative for Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand. He’s worked on government contracting, purchasing and complicated municipal financial transactions.   

Darius believes in the value of hard work and community service. He is the Thanksgiving Volunteer Coordinator for Equinox, Inc. He also worked for the Legal Aid Society, where he represented seniors and the disabled. He is a Coach and Board Member for the National Little League. He is also Finance Chair on Board of Directors for Families Together NYS and on the Finance Committee for the Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood.

A graduate of Bates College and Albany Law School, Darius and his wife, Albany County Legislator Noelle Kinsch, live in Albany's 9th ward with their children Jackson and Ava.
