Darius Shahinfar is running for Albany City Treasurer to help bring Albany into the 21st Century. As City Treasurer, he will work to:

Modernized our City Government
Increase Efficiencies
Save Taxpayer Dollars

Modernize our City Government

Darius knows it’s time to move Albany’s City Government into the 21st Century. We need to update our antiquated computer systems so we can better keep track of how our hard-earned tax dollars are being spent.

Increase Efficiencies

As Chief Fiscal Officer, Darius will work together with the new Mayor and Common Council to pay bills on time and find opportunities where we can collaborate with our sister municipalities to share services.

Save Taxpayer Dollars

By upgrading our City’s technology systems, the City Treasurer can better keep track of revenue and expenses. These upgrades will not only help our City run more efficiently but save our hard-earned taxpayer dollars by reducing costly financial mistakes.

As Chief Fiscal Officer for the City of Albany, the City Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing approximately $170 million in taxpayer dollars. Darius is running for Treasurer because he believes we need someone who has the experience and determination to work with the new administration and Common Council to solve the serious issues the City may face.
